Common questions

A score looks wrong.
Open the report and tap Wrong item, or want to add details? That sends us the reading and the product, which is what we need to fix it. Every report also shows what raised and lowered the score, so you can see the reasoning behind the number.
A barcode is not recognised.
Coverage is strongest in the US, UK, Canada and Ireland, and thinner elsewhere. Tap No barcode? Take a photo and photograph the label; the reading is saved so the next person scanning that product gets it instantly.
An allergen was not flagged.
Please email us the product straight away and we will add it. An alert in the app is a prompt to check, never a verdict: databases can be wrong, photos can be misread, and manufacturers change recipes without notice. Always read the physical label yourself, every time. If you cannot confirm a food is safe, do not eat it.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us. On your device, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Score My Food. Cancelling there stops the renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
I paid but the app still shows the free plan.
Open Settings in the app and tap Restore purchases. If that does not work, email us and mention which Apple account you purchased with.
I want my data deleted.
Your profiles, scans and shopping list are stored on your device only, so deleting the app deletes them. Nothing about you is held on our servers to delete. See the privacy policy for the full detail.
